Behind The Lyrics

As of recently I released my latest single "women's worth" feat Tamera Osborn and I have been receiving a lot of positive feedback. I'm currently working on my new album The Awakening and hoping to release it early / late spring. This album will definitely deliver a positive message as to how far I've transitioned from the last album. In my latest song "women's worth" which was written by myself and a very talented word spoken poet and writer Tamera Osborn. I've personally known Tamera for a little over 2 years and it wasn't until later that I discovered how talented of a writer she is. The original idea behind "women's worth" came about from one of her poems I read. She has written some very impressive material and she also has been working on a book to add to her collection. After reading some of her work I approached her with the idea of working together on a piece, musically and visually. We spent some time developing concepts and ideas which will be rolled out even further after the first stage of "women's worth' that entails open poetry of her work on the song and will be put together as a package in phase II. I originally wrote the first verse of the song "women's worth" and incorporated her poem of women's worth into the song as the second verse. A video was also discussed to bring a visual message to the song so that it doesn't lose its meaning, but we have not come across the right visuals as of yet. After several months of planning and discussing we finally put the song together along with a packaged concept, which I mentioned earlier. We both believed that the song should empower women and stand out because the message is real. Women go through a lot and are the Queens of the the family, but in today's society they aren't held up highly in that light. Instead its more common and acceptable to put down our women in music and society's visual perception. Women do play strong and important roles in society but its not seen as highly as I feel it should. Women have come a long way from being the house wife, mother, to business an entrepreneur of corporate America.  I wanted to show more within the music field that you can create uplifting songs about women and have it be inspiring as well as catchy. Since its release I'm seeing that the song is catching on and people do enjoy good music. not to say that all music is not good but you can see when you create things that have more significance it will appeal to some people. The important thing is that your music or work doesn't loose its identity and I think that is exactly what "women's worth" does, it stands out with a message and is enjoyable to hear something refreshing. Everything doesn't have to be club, everything doesn't have to be turned up, everything doesn't have to be relaxing and chill, but it should be enjoyable and refreshing. It should be an equal balance of variety so you can experience different arts of music. Below I've included Tamera's links so you can check out her work and also a link of "women's worth" that is free to download. Hope you enjoyed this blog. If you can please share and spread this information so others may enjoy it as well. :)

The Review Of The Awakening (intro) by Rick Jamms

The Review on The Awakening (Intro) by Rick Jamms October 26, 2016 | Rick Jamms "Vizualye, born Rajaee Grey, was born in New York Staten Island, and grew up in a single-parent home, with 5 brothers and one sister. Influenced through the late 80’s and early 90’s music, by artists such as Eric B & Rakim, Nas, Jay-Z, and Mobb Deep, Vizualye has cultivated his own style of music, which can be sampled on his latest single, “The Awakening (intro)prod by Tone Jonez”. In the early ‘80s hip-hop was dominated by DJs, with emcees a distant second, but then Rakim and his partner Erik B. dropped the seminal album “Paid in Full”, almost single-handedly introducing the concepts of lyricism, metaphor, and flow that became the pillars of modern rap. It’s crazy to think that there was a time before rap, but there was, just like there was a time before cars, electricity or the internet. Vizualye con...
